succession planning
Most of our clients think several years into the future, imagining the impact they want their organizations to make in five, ten, even 100 years. Thinking that far ahead means they are often anticipating the needs of future generations and imagining their organizations under the helm of different leadership. We partner with our clients in this process, enabling them to plan and prepare for knowns and unknowns, as well as steward the next generation of leaders that will sustain and innovate from their legacies. We have extensive experience in succession planning with businesses, foundations, and nonprofits of many shapes and sizes.
Talent integration
Our work does not end with a successful hire. A new recruit can change the way an entire organization functions and the way an entire team understands its role. We stay engaged with our clients and our placements, often two to five years after an initial hire, mentoring both old and new talent toward full integration of a team's capabilities. Through this process, we often learn more about the client's future talent needs and stay engaged to fill all of the gaps.
organizational assessment
Sometimes our clients need help taking stock of the big picture. We take a market-based approach, examining organizations from both the inside and the outside, researching where they lie within the broader industry landscape and brokering between existing and needed talent. We also take stock of organizational structures, assessing appropriate lines of authority and responsibility, as well as shared tasks and transparency. Organizational and talent assessment is an iterative and integrated aspect of our other services, but clients often hire us to conduct an organizational audit as a separate offering.
executive assessment
Our clients rely on us for objective assessments of their organizational capabilities at all levels, including the C-suite or board level. We help our clients access all available resources to enhance their organizations, including new perspectives on the executive capabilities they will need to manage change or growth. This assessment process reveals existing gaps, but it also reveals existing assets that can be more fully leveraged to improve organizational leadership.
strategic counsel
We provide confidential counsel to our clients facing major transitions, challenges to their business, or questions about how to expand the reach of their services. We do not take an approach that focuses on band-aid solutions. Instead, we take a deep dive, embedding ourselves with our clients to find the most effective points of leverage. We also recognize that a client may face an entangled knot of challenges that are not easy to isolate or address individually. For that reason, we look at organizations holistically, taking into account how all parts of the organizational ecosystem works together.
